My mother gave me this drum for Christmas after I told her that my husband (a musician) might not appreiciate it enough -- I've now accompanied him a time or two and he appreciates it a great deal! I've been playing a djembe, but just about everyone in La Honda, CA can do that, and I'm the first in town that I know of to have a bodhran. The tone is fantastic, and will surely be able to hold its own in our often noisy pub, Sullivan's. The DVD and CD that came with it are very helpful, and I've also discovered online tutorials. I hope someday to be competent enough to play for sober people.
